This programme is aimed at learners with a keen interest in the hair and beauty industry but may not have the entry requirements for a higher level programme. On this course, you will develop the necessary knowledge, understanding and gain basic skills in beauty and hairdressing.
You will study: Care for your own skin; Apply own make up; Care for your hands and feet; Paint your own nails; Shampoo and condition your hair; Blow dry and finish your hair; Care and hygiene in the salon; Personal care and hygiene; Create your own hair and beauty image; Introduction to the use of tools and equipment; Communication skills; English and Maths.
There will be a range of practical assessments within the salons, you will collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects, tests, quizzes and presentations. On completion, you will receive VTCT Entry Level Diploma in hair and beauty skills. After this course, you can move on to Level 1 Beauty Therapy or Level 1 Hairdressing.
You must be aged 16-19. Good school report and reference is essential. Successful interview is also necessary.
